Residents of Mira Road and Bhayander are demanding that Andheri east-Dahisar east Metro be extended to their localities. The two parallel elevated metro routes_Dahisar-D N Nagar and Andheri (E)-Dahisar (E) have brought a ray of hope among residents who feel that extending the line till Bhayander will help decongest public transport
in the western suburbs.

We are requesting all Mira Road and Bhayander residents to sign the petition:

Update 17th Dec 2015:
On Wednesday 16 Dec 2015, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to questions of MLC Muzaffar Hussain, Ashok (Bhai) Jagtap and Sanjay Dutt about plans to have Metro rail connectivity in the Mira-Bhayander region.

He said, “A comprehensive transport study had recommended 29.9km-long Dahisar-Mira Road-Maneckpur-Virar Metro. Thus, there is a plan to initiate measures for the same through the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), according to priority, planning and availability of funds.”

Update 26th Oct 2015:
Mira-Bhayander residents feel that they have been misled by none other than chief minister Devendra Fadnavis himself. On Saturday, he announced that in four months the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Dahisar East-Kasarvadavli (Ghodbunder Road) metro line would be ready as a study is underway when the fact is that the alignment is not part of the 118-km metro network for which DPRs are being prepared.
