Lakhe took charge on Wednesday replacing Suresh Kakani who has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Solapur. Lakhe was earlier deputed as private secretary to Rural Development Minsiter Jayant Patil.
Ex civic chief Suresh Kakani, who joined the MBMC in January 2013, had not even completed two years out of the normal scheduled three-year term.
Earlier, Vikram Kumar served between July 12, 2011 and January 27, 2013.
Shiv Sena legislator Pratap Sarnaik along with party colleagues Neelam Dhwan, Prabhakar Mhatre, Dhanesh Patil, Manoj Mayekar and Snehal Kansaria and Additional Municipal Commissioner Shitole was also present on the occasion.
